How to get my Sims 4 mods working in your game

*****First an most important step (don’t overlook this). Remove other mods. There are other mods out there that WILL conflict with mine and stop them from working.

Great Youtube vid here which may help with installation:

Follow these steps:

Create a folder in your Mod folder called inteenmods (exactly as I have written it here)

mod folder1

Make sure your resource.cfg file is set out like this:

Priority 500
PackedFile *.package
PackedFile *\*.package
PackedFile *\*\*.package
DirectoryFiles inteenmods autoupdate

That last line is important.

Then all you need do is put the mod inside the folder you created in your Mod folder.

mod folder2

Download my resource.cfg file here: https://www.mediafire.com/?010yzw9j38z8sq9

Below is what you should see – obviously whatever version you’re using of Inteen will show up. This is just to show you that you should have the box ticked for mods or it will NOT work.

For the life of me I can not figure out what you mean by “Make sure your resource.cfg file is set out like this:

    Priority 500
    PackedFile *.package
    PackedFile *\*.package
    PackedFile *\*\*.package
    DirectoryFiles inteenmods autoupdate”

    How do you do this?

    • lostaccount says:

Edit the resource.cfg file using notepad or something like it. Or better yet just download my resource.cfg file. I posted a link to it. Download that and replace the one you have with my one. Make sure you have a folder in the Mod folder called inteenmods and put the mods in there. It’s pretty straight forward.

Hey just wanna ask, can i use other mod? where should i paste the others mods?

      • lostaccount says:

No jealous and Privacy will work together and with Inteen. But you can only use one of the Inteen mods at a time, since the tuning files will conflict. Until I do a scripted version this is the way it is.

  2. Toni says:

im really sooo confused with the whole Priority 500 part please helpp

    • lostaccount says:

You don’t need to worry about it. Just make sure you download my resource file from here. The link is in the post. Stuff that in your mod folder. Then follow the rest of the instructions. Make a folder in the mod folder called inteenmods and put my mods in there. Voila!

  3. lostaccount says:

Reblogged this on Lostaccount's Blog and commented:

Download the resource file. I posted the link. It makes life simpler.

  4. RKM says:

If the resource file’s already been edited for other mods downloaded, does the ordering of the added bits matter? AS in, right now, mine says

    Priority 500
    PackedFile *.package
    PackedFile *\*.package
    DirectoryFiles unpackedmod autoupdate

So would adding the ‘ PackedFile *\*\*.package; ‘ and ‘DirectoryFiles inteenmods autoupdate’ at the end be fine?

    • lostaccount says:

replace unpackedmods with inteenmods. Or make a folder called unpackedmods and put the mod in there and leave your resource as is. All that’s necessary is that your last line points to the folder you’re using for the mods.

  5. No Longer Confused says:

OK I got it! Boy do I feel slow. Don’t know how I got so confused before, but everything is in the mods folder now and it’s working. Thanks.

  6. Amanda says:

    Hi 🙂
I followed your instructions exactly but still can’t seem to get it to work at all 😦
Does it matter that my location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Mods\inteenmods (I wouldn’t think so :S)
I downloaded the resource file and placed in the Mods folder.
It’s my first mod attempt for sims 4 and downloaded inteen ver 5.
    Love your work
    Cheers 🙂

    • lostaccount says:

check mods are enabled in game options in game. Also the location matters. The resource file setup is EA’s setup. On their forum that’s how they recommend we set up out mod folders. With that kind of resource file and that folder structure. You can use their resource file and have a folder called unpackedmod and put the mod in there. All you need is to have the mod in a folder that is mentioned in your resource file before the autoupdate part. Take a look at my instructions. Download the resource file I provided.

  7. RaeMarie says:

I’ve done it all and downloaded your resource file and made sure everything was all said and done, but it’s still downloading as rar instead of package. I’m guessing that makes a difference?

  8. Amanda says:

Really appreciate you answering my question and adding the additional install steps (screenshots).
Can’t wait to try it out and hopefully get it working when I finish work 😀
    Many thanks x

      • Amanda says:

Ahhh!! Thank you sooo much for your help 😀
I got the mod working. I enabled mods in the game options and when the mod did not show I did some searching and realised there was another “The Sims 4” folder in C:\Users\Amanda\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, Lol whoops.. felt kinda silly x]
Anyway, just wanted to express my appreciation for all your hard work.
        Cheers x

  9. sergio says:

I did not understand anything please make a video tutorial D’:

  10. Angelica says:

Will replacing the old resource.cfg with the new conflict with any prior mods I have? Can I keep both or will that cause a problem?

  11. Anonymous says:

I did everything. All the mods are showing up (teen 8 and no privacy) however the sims are still blurred out – am I misunderstanding the use of the no privacy mod?

  12. Crissy says:

I did everything and mods are active and showing up – however, I am still getting pixelated sims – am I misunderstanding the no privacy mod?

    • lostaccount says:

Having pixelated sims has nothing to do with these mods. No privacy is not a no censor, it removes privacy which means sims unrelated and not in a relationship can use bathroom etc at same time without all that annoying shooing.

  13. Anonymous says:

So you’re probably getting bored about answering these questions, but I’ve downloaded your resource.cfg file, made sure it’s in the right order, put it all in the right folders and stuff, turned on script mods, and everything’s the right type of file, but it’s still not working. Is there something obvious I’m missing, cause I was really excited when I first saw this mod.

  14. Figgy says:

I’m having a hard time finding the Sims4 folder… I can find my Sims3 folder in both Documents and Program Files, but not Sims4. any suggetions?

Also, thank you so much for all your awesome programming!

  15. Figgy says:

Oh, never mind… I seem to have figured it out by going offline in Origin, and loading it from the desktop icon (at which time it asked me to verify with my email), and then the sims 4 folder appeared!

  16. so replacing your resource.cfg is not going to hurt the game or anything will it?

  17. Aimee Boyle says:

I must be ridiculous but…if I download the resource file, where should I put the archive? Should I put it in my mod folder or should i just leave it among the downloads?
    thank you

fyi, if the mod doesn’t show up in the list and you did everything right to install, it, it may still work. That’s what happened to me. Like it’s not in the list but everything still works.

  20. Walla says:

I can’t for the life of me get this working. I have followed you instructions with the resource.cfg, the inteen folder and allowed script mods ingame. Since nothing worked I thought something was wrong with my copy of the sims but I downloaded a bunch of other mods that worked fine. So in the end there is still no romance option for teens on adults. Is there something im missing?

    • Walla says:

never mind. Got it working in the end 🙂

    • lostaccount says:

Maybe you’re using too many versions of the mod. You only need one Inteen mod, otherwise they will conflict. Pick one, normal, Taboo or whatever and use that plus whatever else you wanna bung with it like the no jealousy etc. But only one Inteen mod. Other than that, make sure you have the resource cfg set up properly. Have a look at the video on the instructions page, the tutorial posted by Jae in his review of the mod.

  21. gantZeR says:

Dude could do this mod for sims 4? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG2EQEsGFCc

    • lostaccount says:

Mmm nah I don’t do any mods that involve kids or babies or anything below Teenage. Most people know that by now and don’t even ask me. I think that video is pretty sick by the way, but that’s just my opinion.

  22. jana8878 says:

I installed and got the mod to work BUT, my teens won’t get preggers. They will woohoo or mess around but no option to try for baby. Did i misread what this mod is suppose to do?

I have the inteen that has all the polyg and other stuff in there.

  23. tori says:

does inteen work for same sex marriage?

  24. tori says:

does this work for same sex marriage?

  25. Sara says:

I don´t know what is the resource.cfg, Ihave got installed mods in the sims 4 and i haven´t got this, is it necesary?, and if the answer is correct how can i get it?

    • lostaccount says:

If you didn’t get that during installation then you’ve got bigger problems. However, you can use my resource.cfg. Download from installation instructions page

  26. Anonymous says:

If I have your mods I can’t have other mods?

    • lostaccount says:

You can have other mods, but obviously some mods will conflict if they make changes to the same tuning files that I make changes to. For example, there is a babies for everyone mod which makes changes to some of the same tuning files in my mod so they will conflict. There is a copycat version (load of shit version) of my mod now on MTS (load of shit site) and that will conflict. Besides, why use an imitation? Wouldn’t you rather use the original?

  27. C.N. says:

I don’t know why but every time I download the file is says it’s a RAR file but it will not give me the option to unzip it as it keeps saving as a notepad file. Every time I’ve opened it is just a bunch of random symbols so I have no clue what its supposed to even begin to say.

What program/file do I save it under in order to be able to unzip it?
